Heard a homeowner say they just vacuumed a huge new stain with water
I was at a supply house in Phoenix and a guy was telling his friend he spilled red wine and soaked it with a wet vac. That can set the stain and wreck the backing. What's the fastest way you explain the blot-don't-rub rule to clients?

Actually, sometimes you gotta just get the liquid out fast before it soaks in deeper. A wet vac pulls it up quick, so maybe the rule isn't always right. If you blot slowly, doesn't that just give the stain more time to set into the carpet fibers anyway? That guy in Phoenix might have saved his carpet by acting fast.

But john648, a wet vac just grinds it in deeper.

My buddy used a wet vac on red wine and it worked fine. Carpet guy said the key is just not letting it dry.
