Finally got a seamless seam on a patterned carpet after 4 tries
Overheard a veteran installer at the supply house say 'patience with the pattern is the only shortcut' and that clicked for me after my third try left a half-inch mismatch, has anyone else found a trick that just suddenly made patterns easier?

Used to think pattern matching was just about measuring twice and cutting once, but @ivan522 has a good point about that clicking moment. After ruining a few carpets I thought I had the method down, then a buddy showed me how to use a scrap piece as a stencil for the first seam. That one trick made me realize I was overcomplicating the whole thing. Funny how a simple adjustment can make all the difference when youre stuck in your own head about it.
