Bet against glue-down on stairs, lost that bet
Always did stretch-in on stairs. Thought glue-down was lazy work. Then did a split-level in Portland last fall. 14 steps, all open on one side. Stretch-in kept popping at the nose. Swapped to glue-down on the last 3 steps just to see. They locked in perfect. No callbacks. Has anyone else had glue-down save a stair job?

@rivera.keith is out here dropping science while I was out here dropping carpet like a rookie. Glue-down on those open stairs is basically cheating. Stretch-in popped on me three times before I finally admitted I was wrong. Now I just tell people glue-down is the lazy man's victory lap.

Read somewhere glue-down actually has better shear strength on open stairs than stretch-in does.
