Bet $200 on a fancy carpet stretcher that barely worked better than my old one

Back in 2018 I bought one of those new power stretchers from a supplier in Phoenix, the one with the fancy head and all. Cost me $350 total after shipping, and it was SUPPOSED to save me time on big rooms. Turns out my 20 year old manual stretcher did the same job, just took me a couple extra minutes. I could have spent that money on a new knee kicker and had change left over. Has anyone else bought a tool that sounded great but didn't really help?

My buddy Mike dropped $400 on one of those and it broke in three months.

Did you try smacking it a few times first?
