Traded my framing hammer for a Mafell track saw mid job - what a mess

Got half a roof deck framed and realized my crew would be a week late on the interior work. Swapped to the track saw to cut all the sheathing and drywall in place instead of pulling out the circ saw. First two cuts were perfect, then I nicked the track with a screw head and gouged a $60 strip. By day three I was back to the old hammer and doing it the slow way. Anyone else switch tools to save time only to lose a whole day? What did you go back to?

That line about "switching tools to save time only to lose a whole day" hits close to home. Seems like every time I try to shortcut a process to speed things up, I end up discovering why the old way was the old way in the first place.

Stick with boring but reliable tools until the new one saves you time twice in a row.
