Rant: tried pocket screws on a white oak stair rail and blew out the side grain on 3 of 8 balusters
Switched to dowels and glue at the base and it took way longer but not one piece split, so now I'm wondering if anyone still uses pocket screws on white oak at all or if I'm the last guy who tried it.
