Old framing square finally gave up after 22 years

Used my dad's old Stanley square since I started in Portland back in 2003. Last Tuesday the stamped numbers were so worn I misread a 32nd and cut a whole stair stringer wrong. Guess some tools are meant to retire, anyone else hang onto beat up tools too long because of the history?

Man, that hurts to read. Losing a tool with your dad's history attached to it is like losing a little piece of the job itself.
