Old finish guy in Tulsa said he never sands past 150 on trim, and my blotchy stain problem finally makes sense
I've been fighting uneven stain on poplar trim for two weeks and he told me going to 220 just burnishes the surface so it drinks stain differently, and now I'm wondering if anyone else here sticks to 150 or if you go finer on hardwoods.
