My old foreman in Spokane would have fired me for how I used to cut crown molding.

For years I'd just hold it flat against the miter saw fence and try to figure out the angles, which was a total guess and wasted a lot of material. After a bad job in 2021 where I blew through three 12-foot pieces on a single corner, I bought a Kapex and started using the bevel and miter settings properly. Has anyone else found a specific tool or method that finally made crown clicks for them?

Holy crap, three whole pieces on one corner? I mean, I've messed up a cut before but that's next level.

Feel your pain on that waste... a good digital angle finder finally made it make sense for me.

I get it, but honestly I still just use a speed square... works fine for me.
