My granddad's old wooden level still outruns my digital one

Pulled my granddad's old Stanley level out of storage last week after 15 years in a dusty barn. Right away I noticed the varnish was gone and the brass edges were dull, but that thing was dead on when I checked it against a brand new digital level I just bought. Made me wonder if the 8 bucks he spent in 1962 was better value than my $120 modern gadget... Do any of you guys still use your old wood levels over the new aluminum ones?

Yeah, that old wood just feels righter in your hands.

Used to swear by digital levels until I borrowed my dad's old wooden one and saw the difference.
