Hot take: spending $300 on a track saw was worth every penny
I kept hearing people say a circular saw with a guide was just as good, so I tried that for 2 years and dealt with constant tear-out and wobbly cuts. Picked up a used Festool track saw for $300 off Craigslist last month and my cabinet panels come out perfect every time now. Has anyone else found a tool that made them change their mind about a popular opinion?

@wendyw71 my buddy Mike swore by his circular saw guide til he tried my track saw once. He bought one that same week and never looked back.

Right, because dragging a circular saw along a wobbly piece of plywood is a total joy. My "budget friendly" setup gave me more splintered edges than usable panels. Now I just smile every time I zip a perfect cut and think about all that wasted time.
