Finally got my first job just trimming out a closet, felt like a big deal
I've been doing carpentry on the side for a little over a year, mostly rough stuff like decks and sheds. Last Tuesday a neighbor asked me to trim out a small walk-in closet in her house, just baseboard and casing. I spent about 4 hours on it, measuring twice for every cut, and it came out clean with no gaps at the joints. She said it looked better than the guy who did her kitchen, which honestly made my week. Has anyone else had a small job like that feel more satisfying than the big builds?

Started with a miter saw and a prayer on my first closet too. That feeling when the last piece clicks in tight is better than any big deck build. Good trim work takes patience, and it sounds like you nailed it (no pun intended). She wouldn't lie about that kitchen guy, so take the win.
