Can we talk about how a speed square beats my old combo square for framing?
I've been framing a garage in Fort Worth for the past week with a buddy who swears by his 12 inch combo square, and I gotta say it's driving me nuts watching him fiddle with that thing while I'm already marking and cutting. My $12 speed square gets me a perfect 90 and a 45 in one flip, no adjusting a blade or sliding a head, and we're getting the same results way faster. Am I crazy for thinking the combo square just belongs on finish work, or does anyone actually prefer it for rough framing?
