Thought job hopping was a mistake until my old boss called me back at $22 an hour
I used to think quitting a job after 8 months made you look flaky, so I stayed at a shop in Dayton for 3 years while they kept me at $15 an hour with no benefits. Last spring I finally walked out after the owner told me raises were not in the budget, and I spent 6 weeks stressed about whether I had wrecked my resume. Then a guy I used to work with called me up, said his place needed someone who could actually diagnose electrical gremlins, and offered me $22 an hour plus health insurance. I have been there 5 months now and they just handed me the keys to open the shop on Saturdays. So my mind changed on the whole loyalty thing, staying put was the actual bad move. Has anyone else had a gap on their resume that turned out to be the best thing that ever happened?
