I wasted $400 on a career coaching program that just told me to network
Signed up for this online career coaching thing back in March thinking they'd help me figure out a new direction after my cleaning business slowed down. All I got was three generic video calls where the coach kept saying "just reach out to people on LinkedIn" and a PDF about elevator pitches. Anybody else get suckered into something similar and actually find something useful instead?

Ugh, SERIOUSLY? That stinks. I feel your pain. I did something similar a few years back, paid a lady $300 to help me organize my home office and she literally just told me to "buy more bins and label everything." Like, I wanted actual strategies for my paperwork system, not a shopping list! It's so frustrating when you pay for expertise and just get common sense wrapped in a fancy website. The whole thing made me realize that most of these programs are just repackaging basic advice you could get for free on YouTube. Hope you find something real that actually fits your cleaning business.

Yeah that tracks unfortunately. I did a similar thing with a business coach last year. He showed me how to make a spreadsheet for tracking contacts and told me to message 5 people a day. @beth_green is right about most of this being stuff you can find on YouTube. What helped me more was looking up local small business meetups in my area and just talking to other owners about what actually works for them. Way cheaper and more honest advice.
