Hit 1000 applications on Indeed today. That number shocked me.
Been job hunting for 8 months now. Just a number I landed on but seeing it made me realize how much time I wasted. I was just spamming apply to anything. Finally got a callback after I started tailoring my resume to each job. Only took 4 tailored apps to get an interview. Has anyone else noticed a huge difference with custom vs shotgun approach?

Oh you're telling me, I did the EXACT same thing for like 5 months straight. Just hitting that easy apply button on everything that moved. Felt like I was DOING something you know? But really I was just making myself feel busy without actually getting anywhere. 1000 applications is INSANE when you think about it, that's like a full time job just clicking buttons. The custom approach sounds way smarter, honestly I bet half those companies never even opened my generic resume. It's like throwing spaghetti at a wall but the wall is on fire and you're blindfolded.

God the spaghetti on fire thing is too real... I spent like 3 months doing the same exact thing and my inbox was just a graveyard of automated rejections or straight up silence. It messes with your head after a while, like am I even a real person with skills or just a resume in a pile of 500 others.
