Found out that most hiring managers spend only 6 seconds scanning a resume

I read this stat in a blog post from a recruiter last night and it totally clicked why my old two-page resume never got callbacks. Has anyone else had luck cutting theirs down to one page and seeing better results?

It's rough out there... I trimmed mine from two pages to one tight page last year and finally started getting past the first round. The key for me was cutting out all the old jobs from like 10+ years ago and just keeping the most recent stuff with real numbers and results. Still feels weird leaving out experience but I guess less is more when they're just skimming.

Yeah trimming down is painful but you're totally right that it works. I used to have this whole section about my summer job from 2008 and one day I was like why am I even including this, nobody cares. Once I cut it out and focused on the stuff from the last 5 years with actual metrics my callback rate went up so much. It feels weird to leave out older jobs but hiring managers honestly just want to know if you can do the current job, not what you were doing a decade ago. Plus it frees up space to actually add details that matter.
