A client meeting in a coffee shop taught me to always bring a notepad
I was pitching a new project and the client started listing off changes right there. My phone died, so I had to ask for a pen and paper from the barista. Now I keep a small notebook in my bag for every meeting. Anyone else have a simple tool that saved them from a bad spot?

Totally get that. A backup battery pack for your phone is a lifesaver too.

Three times I've had that battery pack die on me when I really needed it... not the most reliable thing in the world. I'd rather carry a cheap pen that always works and never needs charging, honestly. It's not as fancy but it's way more dependable when you're in a pinch.
