Unpopular opinion: I quit paying for enclosed transport from Denver to Phoenix and just drove the 800 miles myself
Saved $900 and got to see the whole route through New Mexico, something no transporter ever showed me. Anyone else just drive their project car instead of shipping it and regret it later?

The thing nobody talks about is what enclosed transport actually does to a project car. I've heard stories of guys getting their rides back with mystery scratches and a driver who swears it was like that when he picked it up. At least when you drive it yourself, any rock chip or door ding is on you and you know exactly where it came from. Plus you get to feel the car actually running at highway speed for hours, which tells you stuff a short trip around the block never will. Shipping hides problems. Driving exposes them.
