Just realized enclosed transport isn't worth it for most cars under $30k

I paid $400 extra for enclosed shipping on a 2019 Honda Civic from Austin to Dallas and the driver still showed up 6 hours late with a dirty truck. Learned my lesson - open transport is fine for daily drivers and I could've saved that cash for something useful. Anyone else think enclosed is overhyped for normal cars?

$400 for a Civic from Austin to Dallas? Man, I once paid $500 for enclosed on a 10 year old Corolla from Houston to San Antonio and the guy showed up in a trailer with a faded "Free Candy" sticker on the back. I felt like such a sucker. My buddy just shipped his Porsche 911 open and it showed up perfect, so I'm pretty sure I'm just paying for my own insecurity when I do enclosed. The truck was clean but my interior was dustier than when I left it. Honestly, open transport is probably fine for anything that doesn't need a climate controlled museum piece. Live and learn, I guess.

@john648 a free candy sticker on a transport truck is genuinely terrifying and I would've cancelled on the spot.
