Everybody says pick the cheapest broker, but a $450 quote in Kansas City cost me way more
I booked a broker out of Kansas City for $450 to move my truck to Denver last month because everyone online says to just pick the lowest bid. Two days before pickup the broker called and said the carrier wanted another $300 or they would drop the load, which is the classic bait and switch. I said no, called the carrier directly, and found out the broker had only offered them $350 of my $450. I paid the carrier $500 on my own and canceled the broker, and the truck showed up on time. Has anyone else had a broker hold a load hostage like this, and did you ever get money back from one?
