Debate: Did my carrier ghost me or was the delay legit?

Had a car shipped from Phoenix to Denver last month, showed up two days late with a cracked taillight. The driver blamed road construction in Raton Pass, but I found out he stopped for a personal detour. Which side do you lean on when stuff goes sideways - driver excuses or bad luck?

Did you sign the bill of lading before or after you saw the damage? That's the real game changer right there. If you signed it clean, the carrier's gonna say the crack was pre-existing and you're stuck proving otherwise. The Raton Pass thing is a known mess, lots of construction and tight lanes, but a personal detour? That's a red flag bigger than Colorado itself. Check the GPS records if you can, or ask for the ELD logs - that'll show if he was actually on the route or off playing tourist.

Nah it's just busted tail lights and bad timing, who cares.
