Lost $180 to a "cheap" broker who just bounced my Accord between three carriers
Booked a broker in April to move my 2012 Accord from Phoenix to Portland and his quote was $180 less than everyone else, so I went with him. Two days before pickup he called to say the price was now $210 more or he'd "release" my car, and I panicked and paid it. The car sat for a week at a Phoenix lot while he shopped it around to three different carriers, and it showed up with a scratch on the rear bumper that nobody would own up to. Next time I'm asking for the carrier's DOT number up front, so has anyone found a broker who actually locks the price and gives you the real hauler name before you pay?
