Appreciation post: I figured the $75 deposit for a door to door hauler was a scam, but my Accord got from Phoenix to Boise in 2 days
The dispatcher sent me photos of the truck and plate before pickup, and the driver called 30 minutes out both times, so now I'm wondering if I just got lucky with this company or if that deposit setup is pretty normal?

Is it normal for a hauler to ask for a deposit up front like that? I get why you were wary, since so many people get burned by fake movers who take the money and vanish. Glad your gut was wrong this time and the whole thing went smooth, that has to be a huge relief.
