The ranger's 10-minute tent advice made me ditch my 40-minute setup
Last month at Custer State Park, a ranger watched me wrestle with my rain fly for 20 minutes and just said, 'you know the stakes go on the inside, right?' He showed me a trick with the guy lines that cut my whole setup to under 10 minutes. It hit different because I'd been camping for 6 years and never once read the manual. Anyone else get a basic tip from a stranger that made you feel like a total rookie?
