Still think the solo stove is worth the hype after 8 nights with mine in the rain
Picked up a Yukon back in April thinking it'd be the greatest campfire ever. Took me exactly 8 different trips to finally figure out you can't just toss wet wood in there and expect magic like the videos show. Everyone raves about the smoke-free burn but nobody mentions how picky it is about fuel being bone dry. Has anyone else had to babysit their fire way more with one of these things?

Bone dry" is the key phrase right there. I've had the same struggle with mine, feels like you need to babysit it way more than a regular fire pit or else you're just looking at a bunch of smoke.

And you can't just throw a little extra wood on either, because if it's not seasoned perfectly it just smolders and you're breathing smoke all night. It's like the fire pit version of a high maintenance relationship, you know?
