My lantern sat in the garage for 3 years until a storm in Oregon changed my mind

I always thought rechargeable lanterns were a gimmick, so I kept buying cheap battery ones that died every trip. Then last spring a windstorm knocked out power for 5 days near Bend, and my old lantern drained two D-cells in one night. I dug out my buddy's spare rechargeable unit, charged it once from my car, and it ran 11 hours on low with a warm light. The USB output also charged my phone twice, which I never expected from something the size of a soda can. Now I'm curious, how many of you trust rechargeables for multi-day backpacking over fuel lanterns? What's the longest runtime you've actually gotten in the field?

Wait, you charged it from your car during a power outage, didn't the car battery die after five days of that? Nice find though, my little rechargeable has lasted three nights on a camping trip, but I always bring a power bank just in case.
