A stranger's one comment fixed my tent setup forever

Last month at Big Bend, a guy next to my site watched me stake out my tent and said, 'You're fighting the ground, not using it.' I was pulling the guylines too tight, had the rainfly crooked. He showed me how to angle stakes at 45 degrees into the soil. Next morning, zero sag, zero flutter, even with 20 mph gusts. Has anyone else had a random camper point out something that simple and it just clicked?
