Two weeks of trying to fix a jammed Pentax K1000 with cheap screwdrivers vs one afternoon after I bought a JIS set

Stripped three screws on the bottom plate before I realized standard Phillips drivers weren't cutting it. Has anyone else had a similar wake-up call with Japanese gear?

Stripped three screws on a vintage Nikon F2 before I learned JIS drivers exist. Felt like an idiot paying for whole new bottom plate parts.

Did you check if those stripped screws were salvageable with a JIS driver after all...? Live and learn I guess.
