TIL the hard way that old Nikon F2 light seals shrink over time
Was swapping a viewfinder on an F2 at my bench in Portland last Tuesday and a chunk of foam seal just crumbled into the mirror box. Had to stop everything and spend 20 minutes picking black sticky bits off the mirror with a toothpick. Anyone else dealt with that gummy mess on older Nikons?

20 minutes picking black sticky bits" sounds more like a minor annoyance than a real problem...

Look, I've had buds that shed those black rubber tip pieces and it's not just annoying. After 20 minutes of picking them out of your ear canal with tweezers, your ear is sore and you still feel like there's bits left in there. The real problem is those pieces can cause irritation or even an ear infection if you don't get them all out. Cheap earbuds use that sticky black rubber stuff that breaks down over time, and once it starts getting in your ears, it's a hygiene issue not a minor thing.
