PSA: please check your bench power supply voltage BEFORE you clip it to a customer's 5D board
Was recapping a 5D Mark III board in my shop in Boise last Tuesday and got lazy, clipped my bench supply straight on without checking the dial after my last job, and it was still sitting at 19V instead of 7.4V. Killed a $340 board and had to eat the cost plus explain the delay to a wedding shooter who needed it back by Friday. Now I keep a cheap multimeter taped right to the supply so I have to look at it, has anyone else fried a board this way or am I the only dummy?
