A retired tech in Denver showed me his shutter count log and I can't stop thinking about it
I was picking up a parts order last Tuesday and got talking to a retired repair tech named Hal who ran a bench in Denver for 30 years. He pulled out a little notebook where he logged the shutter count on every camera that came through for a CLA, and the average was way higher than I guessed. Out of 412 bodies he tracked, most hit the bench around 180k actuations, not the 50k I had in my head. I always assumed people baby their gear or dump it early, but he said the opposite, they run them into the ground first. Any of you keep a log like that, or is Hal just a special kind of stubborn?
