Why does nobody talk about the cable spaghetti behind a standing desk

I got a sit stand desk frame last week and thought I had it all figured out. Spent 2 hours zip tying everything to the legs, felt real proud of myself. Then my buddy who does AV work came over and just started laughing. He pointed out that every time I raise the desk, the cables stretch and pull at the connectors, and the loop I left was gonna snap my HDMI port eventually. Said I should've used a spiral wrap with a service loop that travels with the desk, not against it. That hit different because I've been doing it wrong for like 4 years at my old setup and never noticed the wear. Has anyone else had a pro point out a basic flaw in your cable routing that you just never saw coming?

Learned that one the hard way too. Velcro straps are a lifesaver now.
