Wasted $60 on fancy Velcro straps that were total garbage

I bought a big pack of those expensive pre-cut Velcro straps from an online shop thinking they'd be perfect for tidying up my computer desk wires behind my monitor. Turns out the adhesive backing peeled off within 3 days and left sticky residue all over my cables. Has anyone else had better luck with a different brand or should I just go back to using twist ties from bread bags?

Not to bust your bubble, but the hardware store roll isn't really "industrial strength" if it's the same hook and loop stuff. I've seen those big rolls peel off too after a few weeks, especially if the glue isn't meant for cables. That said, @the_kim is right that it's way cheaper than the fancy pre-cut stuff, so at least you're not out $60 when it fails. The real trick is wiping your cables down with rubbing alcohol first and letting them dry, then the sticky part actually bonds. I still use bread ties for the thin charger cords though, nothing beats free.

Totally feel your pain on this. I grabbed a similar pack from Amazon last month for my home office setup and the same thing happened. The adhesive just gave up after a few days and left this nasty gooey mess that was impossible to fully wipe off. I ended up just cutting strips of industrial strength velcro from a hardware store roll and it's been holding strong for weeks now. Bread bag twist ties actually work pretty well in a pinch too, honestly sometimes the simple stuff just beats the fancy options.
