My brother swore by zip ties for everything, then I saw his desk

He told me to ditch the velcro straps and just use zip ties for all my cable management behind the TV. Said it was cleaner and cheaper. I tried it for a month and every time I needed to swap a cable I had to cut the tie and start over. Had a pile of snipped plastic bits on the floor. Anyone else find zip ties more trouble than they are worth?

I saw a tech YouTuber say velcro straps are way easier for cable management than zip ties.

The 47 snipped zip ties I found under my desk last week finally made me snap. I counted them because I was so frustrated. My brother still thinks zip ties are better but he doesn't have to swap cables every few days like I do with my gaming setup between the PC and the TV. Every time I want to plug in my Switch or swap out an HDMI cable I have to go find wire cutters and start the whole mess over again. Plus those sharp little plastic edges where you cut them always stab me when I reach behind the desk. Velcro straps you just pull and adjust and you're done. I don't get why anyone would choose zip ties unless they never touch their cables again.
