Discovered that labeling both ends of every HDMI cable with numbered tape saves me a ton of time when rearranging my home theater setup.
I got tired of crawling behind the TV console with a flashlight trying to figure out which cable went where, so I used a cheap label maker and numbered the plugs on both ends, and now swapping out a Blu-ray player takes maybe two minutes instead of twenty has anyone else tried this or found a better system for keeping track of a mess of cables?

Actually all that labeling is overkill since modern TVs can identify inputs automatically.

That "swapping out a Blu-ray player takes maybe two minutes instead of twenty" line REALLY hit home for me. I've got a cabinet full of game consoles and streaming boxes and it's always a whole ordeal when I need to swap something out. My labels kept peeling off after a few months from the heat back there, so tell me, what kind of tape are you using that actually STICKS to those rubbery HDMI plugs without falling off?
