Vent: I ignored the toner probe for 3 years because it looked like a toy
My old lead tech in Denver kept telling me the tone generator and probe would save me hours on every job, and I brushed it off because I figured I could just trace by eye like always. Then 6 months ago I got stuck on a 14-cable wall run in a Fremont office and spent two hours guessing which line was which while my ladder time ate up the whole schedule. He handed me his probe, I clipped the generator on the right cable, and I found it in under 30 seconds. Now the kit rides in my pouch on every call. Anybody else slept on a basic tool way too long, and what finally made you pick it up?
