Update: A beach town visit made me rethink outlet placement
I took my family to a coastal village for a few days. Our rental had the cable box and modem tucked in a closet near the front door. Every time we wanted to watch something, someone had to get up and open the closet to reach the reset button. It was a pain, especially with sandy feet from the beach. It clicked for me that I often put gear in the easiest spot for me to install, not for the customer to use. Now I ask myself where people will actually sit and what they'll need to reach. That trip taught me to think about daily life when I pick a location for equipment. A small change can save a lot of hassle down the line.

Yeah putting stuff where it's easy to install is such a trap.

Why does it always seem smarter before you start?

Nah, easy to install spots are usually easy for a reason lol. Sometimes the simple path is the smartest one, saves you a ton of time and headache. You can always plan to move it later if you really need to, but getting it working now is what counts.
