TIL a simple way to fish cable through insulated walls without tearing them up.

During my cousin's attic redo, I had to run new coaxial lines. Found that using a flexible glow rod and a bit of detergent on the cable tip slides it past insulation easily, which was a game changer! What do you guys use for fishing cable in insulated walls?

That detergent trick you mentioned is genius.

You know what's wild? I used Dawn to clean up after my dog got skunked last fall. The old tomato juice thing did nothing, but a bath with blue Dawn and baking soda actually worked. It took like three washes and my bathroom smelled like a diner kitchen, but it cut the smell way down. Makes sense if it breaks down oil based stuff that well.

I saw a post on a DIY forum last year where a guy used blue Dawn to get old motor oil out of his driveway. The science is it breaks down grease really well, which is why it works on kitchen pans too. It doesn't help much with stains like rust or red wine though, in my experience. Have you tried it on anything besides laundry?
