Switched from crimp connectors to compression fittings and I'm never going back
After my third service call in one week for a corroded crimp on a roof in Phoenix where the heat melts everything, a guy I respect told me 'compression costs more but you won't revisit it,' and sure enough that was six months ago and zero callbacks from that same job.

I told myself I'd never be that guy who buys the expensive tools but here I am with a whole drawer full of compression stuff and zero regrets... guess I'm a hypocrite with good wiring now.

Oh absolutely, you're not a hypocrite. You're just someone who finally realized that fighting with cheap crimpers at 2am isn't a personality trait. I did the exact same thing. Bought the cheap stuff first, hated every second of it, then caved and got a proper ratcheting set. Now I can't even look at my old tools without laughing. It's like the difference between trying to cut steak with a plastic fork vs an actual knife. Welcome to the dark side, we have good connections and no regrets.
