Serious question, are we over-scheduling or just bad at estimating?

I was in a group chat with some other installers last night and one guy said he can knock out 6 residential jobs in a day easy... another guy laughed and said 4 is his max before quality drops off. It got me thinking, are we pushing ourselves too hard to take every job or is it just a skill thing? Some days I feel like a machine and other days one tricky attic run eats up my whole afternoon. What do you guys think, where's the line between hustle and just setting yourself up for a bad day?

Hustle culture tricks you into thinking more jobs = better day but nobody talks about how bad estimating gets when you're fried from pushing past your limit. Maybe the real skill isn't speed but knowing when to say no before you mess up someone's attic and your whole afternoon.

Hang on, let's not act like this is some deep life or death thing. I mean yeah some days you get a nightmare attic but that doesn't mean you need a whole philosophy about it. The guy doing 6 jobs a day is probably half assing it and the guy doing 4 might just be slow. Honestly it's not that deep, you just gotta know your own speed and stop comparing yourself to what some random in a group chat claims.
