Ran speaker wire along a 220 line for 3 years before a homeowner asked me one question
Was doing a surround sound job in a house off Route 66 near Tulsa and the guy points at my wire run and asks if that big grey cable was what I wanted to run next to. I had been zip tying speaker runs parallel to romex for like 3 years because it kept everything neat and nobody ever complained. He pulled up a forum thread on his phone and sure enough, the interference was why my last 6 jobs had that faint hum customers always blamed on the receiver. Now I cross everything at 90 degrees or keep 18 inches of space, and the hums stopped cold. Anyone else learn a basic trade rule from a random customer instead of an actual pro?
