Just realized I'd been stripping coax wrong for 10 years

A veteran contractor in Des Moines pointed out my braid was fraying because I was using the wrong blade angle on my coring tool. Anyone else get set in their ways on something basic and have a random guy on site set you straight?

10 years of wrong cuts is basically a badge of honor at this point though. At least the Des Moines guy didn't film it and put it on the internet like everyone else would. Now you can join the elite club of people who know how to strip coax properly.

Oh man, that hits home. I had a buddy who used a flathead screwdriver to pry open paint cans for years until some old-timer at the hardware store showed him the proper lid tool in like two seconds. He still brings it up every time we paint something together.
