Guy on a job in Boise watched me fish a drop through 18 inches of attic insulation and asked if I was "training to be a contortionist"
So this homeowner in Boise last Tuesday follows me up the ladder into the attic, which I never love, and he just stands there watching me belly crawl to the far wall. I had about 14 feet of blow-in insulation to get through to hit the spot for the living room drop, and it's 110 degrees up there easy. He pokes his head up and goes "you know they make longer drills for that, right?" like that solves the problem of not being able to see where the bit is going. Then he asks if I could "just run it along the outside of the house" because his wife doesn't want any more holes in the drywall. I spent 40 minutes up there and came down soaked, and he hands me a bottled water and asks if I want a tip on being more efficient. It took everything in me not to ask him when the last time he was in an attic was. How do you all handle the homeowners who want to supervise the whole install? Do you just let them tag along or make up a reason they can't come up?
