A retired lineman's comment changed how I see my work

Last week I was swapping a drop on a 40 year old pole in Toledo and an old timer who was watching said, "You're not just moving signal, you're moving their whole living room." He was talking about the grandma who gets her soaps and the kid doing homework, and it made me slow down with my splices. Anyone else ever get a reality check like that from a stranger on a job?
