The domino error that flipped my glue-up method
I was doing a walnut bookshelf for a client in Raleigh and trusted my old dowel jig for a 12-slot shelf. Misaligned one hole by a couple millimeters, clamped it up, and the whole face bowed outward like a banana. Had to scrap $90 of material and re-cut in one afternoon. Now I lay out every joint with a story stick on the actual boards before any glue gets near the bench. Anyone else ditch dowels for something simpler after a similar screwup?

Story sticks beat measuring tapes every damn time.
