That moment when you realize your miter saw has been off by half a degree for 10 years

I was trimming out a kitchen in Austin last spring and kept fighting gaps on the crown molding. Finally grabbed a digital angle finder just to check, and sure enough my saw was cutting at 45.5 instead of 45. The old-timer I was working with just laughed and said 'everybody's got a saw like that, you just gotta learn to work around it.' Has anyone else found a sneaky setup flaw that you just accepted as normal for way too long?

Whoa, half a degree for a whole decade and you just lived with it?

You used to THINK you'd eventually just sell the saw and upgrade, but honestly this post is making me reconsider. Maybe every tool has its OWN little personality and fighting that just wastes time. Your way of saying "just learn to work around it" actually sounds pretty wise to me now.
