That $200 drawer slide jig was a total scam

Bought this fancy adjustable jig from a big box store. Claimed it works for any drawer size. Spent a whole Saturday installing it and every single slide was off by 1/8 inch. Had to rip out all the slides and redo them by hand with a tape measure. Save your money and just use a spacer block like the old timers do. Anyone else get burned by a gimmick tool?

Totally agree, it's the same pattern with fancy kitchen gadgets or expensive organizers, people think spending money fixes the problem when really the skill is just knowing your reference point and working smart not hard.

Old timers would tell you spacer blocks can slip too if you don't check your reference edge first. That said, $200 for a jig is highway robbery when a scrap piece of plywood and a clamp do the same thing.
