That $200 Blum soft-close drawer slide kit I bought for a rush job was a total waste

I was in a hurry finishing up a kitchen remodel last month and needed drawer slides fast. Saw a kit of Blum soft-close undermounts for about $200 online and thought it was a good deal since I was short on time. Got them in, started installing, and realized the mounting brackets didn't match the pre-drilled holes on my drawer boxes at all. Had to spend another 3 hours modifying the boxes and buying extra adapters. The slides themselves work fine now, but the whole thing cost me way more in labor and frustration than just getting the right ones from my local supplier. Has anyone else tried those bulk kits and ended up with compatibility headaches?

Oh man, I feel your pain so hard on this one. I grabbed one of those Blum bulk packs off Amazon for a bathroom vanity job and the side brackets were totally different from what I expected. Ended up having to drill new holes in my boxes and shim the whole thing just to get them to sit right. By the time I added in the extra adapters and the overtime frustration, I could've just driven to the supply house twice and saved myself the headache. Those kits are a gamble for sure.

Dude, sounds like you won the Amazon roulette jackpot but in the worst way. Those bulk packs are like buying a mystery box where the prize is extra drywall work and a bad back. I swear they pack them with whatever leftover parts are gathering dust in some warehouse basement. Next time I'll just pay the extra twenty bucks to get a single, correct pair from the supply house. Saved you a whole Saturday of cussing at particle board, right?
