Pro tip: a finisher in Toledo showed me how he gaps doors with a dime, and my reveals have been dead on since
Stopped by a cabinet shop in Toledo last Thursday to pick up a set of maple doors for a kitchen I'm doing in Perrysburg, and the old guy finishing them watched me test fit one with a business card. He shook his head, pulled a dime out of his pocket, and slid it under the door at the hinge side, then told me if the dime drags, it's too tight, and if it slides free, it's too loose. I tried it on the next four doors and every gap came out the same, about 3/32. Been making cabinets for 11 years and nobody ever showed me that, so now I'm wondering what other little tricks are floating around out there.
